우리들 이야기

저는 2년 전인 2023년 3월 19일 주일에 ‘방/집을 주님께 드리세요.’라는 칼럼을 썼습니다. 그 아이디어는 호주의 한 교회에 선교사님과 목사님들을 위해 머물 수 있도록 성도들이 자신들의 방을 헌신한 것에서 출발했습니다. 세미나를 제외하고 목회자님들이 우리 교회에 배우려고 연수를 오거나 선교사님들이 방문을 할 때가 있습니다. 민박을 위해서 여러분에게 민박이 가능한지 문의를 하면 어떤 분들은 자신의 집을 오픈하는 것을 여러 가지 이유로 부담스러워 합니다. 하지만, 어떤 분들은 방이 여유가 있어서 깨끗하게 잘 정돈해 두었다가, 기회가 되면 언제든 사용할 수 있도록 섬기고 싶어 하는 것을 보았습니다.  그렇게 2년 전에 이런 요청을 드렸을 때, 네 분이 기쁨으로 자신의 방을 오픈해 주셨습니다. 그래서 그 해에 그 네 분이 차례대로 집을 오픈하셔서 선교사님과 목회자님들이 우리 교회를 탐방하셨고, 쉼을 얻고 배우고 가셨습니다. 이 아이디어를 다시 생각하게 된 것은 한국에서 6월까지 사역하다가 오시는 김인기 파송목사님이 자주 하는 말씀 때문입니다. 

저는 외부에 자주 다니지 않기 때문에 잘 모르지만, 김목사님이 한국과 선교지와 미국의 교회를 방문하고 목사님들을 만나면, 많은 분들이 우리교회를 방문하여 배우고 싶어 한다는 것입니다. 우리 교회에서 무엇을 배우고 싶어하는지 여쭤보면, 김목사님은 여러 가지를 말씀하십니다. 첫째, 가정교회를 통해 교회가 건강하게 잘 세워진 것입니다. 둘째, 한인이 별로 없는 도시에서 매달마다 예수님을 영접하고 세례를 받는 것 입니다. 셋째, 가정교회 안에서 담임목사 위임이 아름답게 잘 되었다고 합니다. 넷째, 성도님들이 열심으로 섬기고 사랑을 실천하는 헌신이 모범적이라고 합니다. 다섯째, 다른 교회와 달리 딱딱하지 않은 가족같은 교회의 분위기가 좋다고 합니다. 여섯째, 올랜도는 관광도시라고 근처에 쉴곳이 있어 재충전에 도움이 된다고 합니다. 1년 내내 여러분의 방을 오픈할 필요는 없습니다. 방문하는 목회자와 선교사님이 있을 때만 자신의 방을 오픈하여 섬기고 싶은 분은 교회 사무실에 알려주십시오. 그러면 상황에 맞게 민박할 수 있는 기회를 드리겠습니다. 선지자를 대접하여 선지자의 상을 받는 기회가 되시기 바랍니다. 

2 years ago, I wrote a column titled “Give Room/house to Lord” on March 19, 2023. That Idea started when church members of an Australian church decided to dedicate their rooms to be used for missionaries and pastors to stay. Besides seminars, many pastors and missionaries visit our church to learn about our Church. Many members become hesitant to open their house for a home stay for many reasons when asked for a house stay. However, some members are willing to serve for a home stay and always keep their spare rooms clean and organized for this cause. So 4 of our church family members opened their house for a homestay when I asked 2 years ago. So that year, missionaries and pastors were able to visit our church, learn, and rest well because of those 4 families. I was reminded of this idea because of what our dispatched pastor, Inki Kim, who is coming in June after his ministry in Korea, shared with us many times. I usually don’t make many trips, so I am not too familiar. However, Pastor Kim shared with me that many pastors from other churches in Korea and mission fields and America want to visit and learn about our Church. 

When I asked Pastor Kim what other church pastors wanted to learn, Pastor Kim shared these with me: First, our Church is built on the strong and healthy foundation of the House Church. Second, despite the church being in the city with a small Korean community, we keep getting new people who receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior and then get baptized every month. Third, the transition of senior pastor leadership went nicely and well within the House church. Fourth, our church family members' dedication to serve with passion and practice love is quite exemplary. Fifth, the Vision church has a family-like vibe, not a regular church's strict vibe. Sixth, Orlando, the city with many tourist attractions, offers many options for recharge and relaxation. You don’t need to open your rooms for an entire year. When there is a visiting pastor or missionaries, please let the church office know of your room’s availability if you wish to provide your room. We will inform you so that you may provide your room based on circumstances. I do wish you this opportunity of receiving an award by serving the prophets.
