우리들 이야기

1년에 한번은 담임목사가 46개 모든 목장을 다 방문을 합니다. 저희 부부가 지난 주 금요일 부터 방문을 시작했는데 구체적으로 왜 목장 방문을 하는지, 방문하여 무엇을 하는지를 비전식구들께 자세히 설명을 드리지 않은 것을 알게 되었습니다.  한 마디로 목장 방문의 목적은 소통하기 위함입니다. 담임목사는 주로 주일 설교나 성경공부를 통해서 일방적으로 가르칠 때가 많습니다. 그래서 교회 식구들이 실제 생활에서 생기는 크고 작은 질문들, 목회자 가족과 개인에 대한 질문, 교회와 성경과 기독교에 대한 질문에 대해 답을 해 줄수 있는 기회가 적은 것 같습니다. 물론 저의 목양실은 언제나 오픈되어 있기 때문에 찾아 오셔도 되고, 이메일이나 카톡이나 문자나 전화로 언제든 대화할 수 있습니다. 하지만 어떤 분들에게는 그런 시간과 마음을 가지는 것이 쉽지 않은 것이기 때문에 이런 방문이 필요하였습니다. 

그래서 목장을 방문하여 하는 순서는, 식사를 같이하고, 올리브 블래싱을 한 후에 축복기도를 하고, 목장 식구들 중에서 특별히 감사한 일이 있으면 한 두가지 나누고, 그리고 목장 식구들이 가지고 있는 질문에 저와 아내가 답을 하는 시간을 갖습니다. 질문과 답이 어느정도 끝나면 가정별로 한 두가지 기도제목을 받고 기도를 합니다. 이렇게 해서 형제 자매들의 기도제목과 그 상황을 이해하게 되고, 제가 나중에 그 분을 위해 기도할 때 구체적으로 기도할 수 있습니다. 우리교회에는 목장에는 오지만 교회는 오지 않는 VIP들이 많이 있습니다. 그분들은 이런 목장 방문을 통해서 담임목사와 교회에 대한 좋은 생각을 갖게 되기도 합니다. 지난 2년 동안 목장 방문을 통해서 예수님을 영접하고 세례를 받아야 할 분들이 영접하고 세례를 받는 경우가 두 번이나 있었습니다. 이러한 유익들을 위해서 목장을 방문합니다. 차례대로 다 방문할테니, 기대하고, 기도하고, 기다려 주세요.   

As the senior pastor, my wife and I visit every HC at least once a year. We have started this visit from last week, but I realize that we owe an answer to my vision family members why we visit HCs and what we do during our visit. A short answer is we visit to communicate. The pastor's communication is usually one-way as it pertains to Sunday sermons or Bible study. So the time is very limited for me to answer questions about your daily life, about myself or my family, and the church/Bible/Christianity. Of course, you may come to my office, my door is always open and you are welcome to visit at any time. You may communicate with me via email, kakao, text messages, or phone call at any time. However, it may be challenging for some of you to have time and effort, which is why HC visit became necessary. 

I try to stick to the following schedule- have a meal together, pray for blessing after Olive-Blessing, sharing of 1 or 2 special thanksgiving amongst HC members, and then have a Q&A session with HC members about me & my wife. After the Q&A session, we receive prayer requests from HC members and pray for them. By doing so, I could have a better understanding of our church brothers and sisters which enables me to pray for them with specific details when I pray for them. We have many VIPs who attend our HCs but don't come to our Sunday Services. This visit to HC may give a good impression about the church and senior pastor to those VIPs. We had two occasions in the past two years in which VIPs received Jesus Christ and got baptized throughout HC visitations. Because there are benefits like these, we are visiting HCs. We will visit all the HCs in order, please have a great expectation, pray, and wait for us.
